It can be used for specific procedures and diagnosis techniques such as antibiotic susceptibility testing and antigen-antibody reactions.
Ventilation lugs on underside of lids allow for venting, favour the exchange of oxygen or other gases, and allow for evaporation resulting from physiological processes of growing microorganisms.
Flat surface. Dishes are easily stackable thanks to the raised ridges around their tops.
