Gentian violet dye
The dyes used in Bacteriology are used to help the morphological visualization of bacteria, which due to their insignificant size, are practically transparent. The simple coloring with Gentian Violet facilitates the observation of germs, which stand out for their violet / purple color.
Although it is basically used in simple stains, it is also useful in certain compound stains (Gram).
It is convenient to stain from young cultures (24-36h).
Exclusive use as a laboratory reagent.
Supplied with explanatory brochure with instructions for use.
Presented in opaque amber PET bottles with a white sealed cap.
METHOD:
1. Take a clean and degreased slide.
2. Make a fine and homogeneous spread. Can be made directly from a culture
in broth, of a bacterial suspension obtained by homogenizing 1-2 colonies in
saline solution, or from a direct sample from a patient.
3. Allow to dry, and fix the extension by passing the slide over the flame of a
Bunsen lighter. Avoid overheating.
4. Place the slide on a staining rack.
5. Flooding the slide stain with Gentian Violet for 2
minutes.
6. Wash with water with the help of a washing bottle until the washing liquid has no
violet color.
7. Allow to drain vertically and dry at room temperature.
8. Visualize with an immersion objective, placing a drop of oil between the smear and the lens.
Reading: Bacteria and the rest of the elements appear purple.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Not suitable for any other application other than its intended use.

Do not use if the expiration date has passed.
Manage as biological waste.

For storage, it is recommended to keep the product in a closed container at room temperature in a well-ventilated place away from any point of heat or ignition.
