Serum tubes with clot accelerator and gel serum separator

Made of a clear polypropylene, supplied capped and labelled with an inert polyethylene cap.

The tubes are designed and processed to enable a fast serum and clotted blood separation.

The serum is later used to analyse the majority of blood test parameters and to search for antiodies.

The inert gel is located, after centrifugation, between the clot and the obtained serum and it works as a totally watertight barrier.

The ergonomic features of the cap design result in a very reliable and easy-to-use cap.

On the label of each tube the lot number, expiry date and volume are printed.

Supplied in plastic racks.

We strongly recommend its usage for biochemistry, routine tests, special biochemistry, markers, hormones, immunology (tube without anticoagulants).

Shelf life: 24 months.

As a precaution and to facilitate interaction between the watery part of the blood and the sprayed accelerator, the tube must be softly shaken (5 times minimum) in order to homogenise the blend.

Clot retraction starts almost immediately and at a faster speed than in a glass tube, and serum canbe obtained in about 15 minutes.

Is necessary to wait 25-35 minutes before centrifugation. (At 1500 xg during 15 minutes).

A specially formulated gel is added at the bottom of the tubes, with the purpose of forming a compact barrier between the clot and the serum, after centrifugation.

Gel serum separator tubes provide 15% more serum than granule serum separator tubes and glass tubes.

Once the gel barrier is completely formed (after centrifugation), serum and gel can be stored for 2-3 days with no risk of significant contamination of cell components.

Serum can be decanted from tubes after centrifugation; the use of pipettes is not necessary.

Do not expose to the sun for a prolonged time. It is recommended to store tubes at a temperature below 45ºC.

Warning: processed samples must be disposed of as biological waste and never reused or readministered to human beings.
