SPECIFIC USE - DESCRIPTION

Sterile swabs for clinical use, designed for the collection of biological samples and for their subse quent transport to the laboratory for microbiological analysis.

Mainly used for the preparation of smears (stained and then observed through a microscope) and for isolations in culture media.

Another remarkable use is for surface spreading techniques as required in antibiotic susceptibility testing.

It is also useful for multiple uses as cleaning biological cavities or cleaning inaccessible parts of the body, among others.

Expiry date: 48 months from sterilisation date. Sterilisation by ethylene oxide.

Certificates of sterilisation are available upon request.

Sterile medical device class I, manufactured in clean room, accoridng to ISO 13485 and certified by The Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices as Notified Body no. 0318.

Compatible with PCR techniques ,microbiology and virology techniques.

COMPONENTS DIMENSIONS

• A 13 x 165 mm sterile round bottom tube with cap, made of non-distorting polypropylene.
• A swab consisting of a shaft (made of snappable PS) inserted into a safety cap that perfectly seals the tube (cap made of red polyethylene).
• A label that seals the cap of the tube. The label provides space for patient’s name, date and hour of sample collection, number, Doctor, specimen nature and hospital name. The expiry date, batch number, product description and brand are also indicated.
