Tubes for vacuum system
Medical Device for In vitro Diagnostic. Directive 98/79/CE.
Shelf life: 18 months.
SPECIFIC USE - DESCRIPTION:
Tubes in PET produced with the inner cap in rubber and outer cap in yellow polyethylene. Incorporates a label for sample identification, with white background and a transverse line in yellow to easily see that it is a tube for urine. Printed with the batch number, expiry date, CE mark, volume of suction, manufacturer, and single use symbol.
Label dimensions: 40 x 20 mm.
During the manufacturing process, the tubes are subjected to an air extraction, which creates a controlled vacuum inside the tube. When the cap is pierced by the needle, the vacuum of the tube aspirates up to 9ml of fluid. There is no need to open it for introducing the sample or to extract aliquots for analysis. The sealing cap consists of two parts: an inner rubber cap, and a yellow polyethylene overcap.
This dual system prevents the formation of residual droplets when the needle is extracted from the rubber cap.
Supplied in polystyrene racks of 100 units, shrink-wrapped and labeled.
ATTENTION code 408910.K: Handle with caution: the tube contents boric acid, which may be dangerous for health. Contains boric acid, which may be harmful to health if not handled correctly.
Advantages of the Vacuum urine sampling:
1. Avoid contamination by opening the container and manipulating the sample.
2. Facilitates the process to the user (either a lab technician or the patient).
3. Avoid any splashes or spills by opening or closing the container and the tube, avoiding the possibility of losing sample needed for analysis. Also
reduce risk of contamination of users or work environment.
4. The cap is re-pierceable. This feature enables the removal of aliquots of the sample by syringe, so that the analysis can also be performed without
uncovering the tube.
5. Sanitizes the process.
Instructions for sampling USE:
1. Open the bottle and place the lid on a flat surface, face up.
2. Collect the central part of the urine, filling at most half the bottle, and discarding both the beginning and the end of the urine.
3. Close the bottle with care not to touch the inside of the lid.
4. Deliver the bottle to the healthcare staff.
Instructions for vacuum system collection:
1. Remove the cap label carefully but not totally, as shown in the picture above.
2. Place the vaccum tube into the cavity wth the stopper facing down.
3. Press the tube over the puncture point to pierce the stopper. The urine tube will then be filled.
4. Hold the tube in position until filled and remove the tube from device. Repeat if another tube is to be collected.
5. Replace the label over the hole and reseal. Label the tube for transport to the laboratory.
Vacuum tubes.
Measurements: 16 x 100 mm
